Of what it cost to become the man I am,

Fading Echoes
In the quiet of night, when shadows stretch long, I trace the contours of memories gone wrong. The echo of your laughter, once vivid and near, Now fades into whispers, distant and unclear.
The ache of absence, a relentless tide, Pulls me under, where grief and sorrow collide. Your touch, like a phantom, lingers on my skin, A bittersweet reminder of what might have been.
The stars above, witnesses to our love’s demise, Twinkle with indifference in the vast, empty skies. I search for solace in their distant light, But find only darkness, swallowing me whole each night.
The scent of your perfume, a haunting refrain, Clings to the fabric of my soul, etched in pain. I close my eyes, hoping to glimpse your face, But all I see are fractured dreams, a vacant space.
The seasons change, yet my heart remains frozen, Caught in the undertow of love’s cruel erosion. I gather the shards of our shattered past, Weaving them into verses, a requiem that will last.
